It's Official...

I officially casted my ballot today for Barack Obama to be our party's candidate for President of the United States. The first opportunity to vote was this morning after our delegation breakfast while picking up our credentials. The ballot had each delegate's name with a check box below each candidate. As each delegate picked up their credential, we would check off who our vote was for and the next delegate would do the same. Hillary will be officially releasing her delegates today around 1p, so look for a lot of her delegates to follow her lead and cast their ballot for Obama.

*people with blank boxes next to their name hadn't voted yet.

Thanks for getting some updated posts up, Keith. Again, C-Span is doing a great job because their cameras just show the convention -- not all kinds of talking heads looking for a goofy story to fill their time slots. After Hillary's speech, I couldn't resist looking in on Fox Noise to see how they were reacting. Predictably, Bill Krystol criticized her for not being passionate enough. Fair and balanced? Yeah, right.
Saw the Montana governor speak. He certainly fired up the crowd (unlike the gov from Ohio).
Daily Show was great last night, too. Keep up the good blogging -- it's great to know how things look from the "front row!"

From the Boston Globe:

THE BEST way to watch a political convention is on C-Span. That way Americans can make their own judgments unfiltered, without being told what to think by the nattering nabobs of TV commentary.

Nattering nabobs? Amen, Boston Globe, Amen!

Keith, what did you think of GOP Congressman Jim Leach? His speech was totally ignored by the networks.

We're happy that you're able to get some info to us. Keep it up.

I agree with Mark...we're only listening to C-Span. The major network coverage is really, really bad and the news channels aren't much better.

Great hearing from you.
Wish I was there...really wish I was...
but I am looking for you in the crowd.

Shoop is right, C-Span is great. PBS is also good. The rest are too busy making lame (usually negative) comments with little real coverage.

Nice job on the Obama vote. Vote early and often.

Hey, pick me up a convention button if you get a chance. I'll buy ya a beer.
